Azim withdraws from FAM President Polls

National Sports Institute Chairman Dato Azim Zabidi will not be contesting for the Football Association of Malaysia presidents position.

He confirmed his decision not to accept the nomination by Pahang FA and said that the official documentation will be sent to FAM on Monday.

In relating his decision, Azim said that it was better for him to focus of improving sports as a whole with his position as the ISN Chairman and OCM Deputy President.

There is no doubt that Azim could have contributed fresh ideas to FAM but he can still be invited to assist FAM in his present capacity.

With the withdrawal of Azim, the race for the Presidency is down between Dato Hamidin Amin and Tan Sri Anuar Musa.

Hamidin has accepted the nomination while Anuar has till June 14 to decide.
