FAM, OKS come to terms? Four eyes meeting at Wisma FAM

It is reliably learnt that former U23 coach Dato Ong Kim Swee has met up with the Football Association of Malaysia to discuss and iron out terms with regards to his services with the national body.

Informed sources within the national body revealed that Kim Swee had formal discussions with FAM Secretary General Stuart Ramalingam on plans to engage the Melaka board as head of the FAM Youth Department today at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.

Though there is no official confirmation from either party yet, those well versed with the developments revealed that it was a done deal and Kim Swee was agreeable with the terms offered for the one year contract.

Bring the head of the youth department is actually not a new position for the 49 year old as he was appointed to that position three years ago, doubling up as the national under 23 coach at the same time.

The only difference at that time was Kim Swee was not actually hands on with regards to the programs of the various age a group squads.

And this time, Kim Swee could also have additional duties to monitor and engage with the NFDP, a program run entirely by the NSC though the technical expertise comes from FAM.

Just how this will work is left yo be seen but Kim Swee’s formal appointment could augur well for youth Football in the country.

Until time of writing efforts to contact Kim Swee were futile,
