Hertzberger happy he got chance to rectify mistake

Having played a key role in University Kuala Lumpur winning the trophy, Jereon Hertzberger is keen to return and play in the Malaysian Hockey League next season.

The Dutchman scored the winning goal in the sudden death shoot out after the two teams, UniKL and KL Hockey Club were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

The first round of the shoot out failed to break the deadlock and Hertzberger was one of those who missed his attempt.

“ I was actually very focussed for the shoot outs and had a good plan,” recalled Hertzberger.

“The rain caused my hand to slip on the first one but i had faith in Dave ( David Harte) to stop a few!

“ When the deciding shoot out came, I was more just really happy than nervous because i had the opportunity to fix my mistake earlier.”

Hertzberger got the better of

Hertzberger played a key role for UniKL as he scored 12 goals in the MHL, with goals from open play as well as penalty corners.

He denied that any other club had made him an offer to play for them in next years MHL


“ I would love to return if it fits my personal life with family and kids, added Hertzberger.

“ I have not had offers from other clubs… only fans on instagram “
