Tee Jing Yi gave it her best shot, but it was still not good enough for the youngster to move into the second round of the qualifiers for the All England Championships at the National Indoor Arena at Birmingham this afternoon.

Jing Yi lost to Indonesia’s Adrianti Firdasari in a match that she really could have won had she been more composed and tactically aware of the needs to finish off an opponent especially when holding the advantage. Jing Yi lost 19-21, 21-15,19-2.

In the end, the pressure got to the Malaysian number one and she was the first to admit that getting into the Olympics was fast becoming a distant dream. Still she is optimistic of gaining points at Vietnam and Australia and feels that with players on par with her playing at those events, she stands a better chance.
