Having made the main draw displaying tremendous character and fighting spirit, Liew Darren is looking at getting past Bonsak Polsana in the first round match at the All England Championships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
He defeated Chinese Taipei’s Hsueh Hsuan Yi 21-19, 19-21, 21-19, his second win in two months over the same opponent, the last being at the qualification rounds of the Malaysian Open in January.
Citing his ability to fight as well as an improved fitness level, Darren hit the nail on the head when he said that he was not one to waste time and money by not giving his all on the court. And hopefully that spirit will prevail as Bonsak in returning from injury and Darren could well move into the second round.
