Music to the ears for National, State and Clubs as DS Reezal provides extension

After some 50 sports bodies received their approvals on Wednesday from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, more good news awaits them.

The 50 comprised of 13 national sports associations affiliates to the Olympic Council of Malaysia to receive letters of approval in the Bantuan Prihatin Sukan inteideced the Youth and Sports Minister Dato Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

And yesterday the Minister sat down with his Ministry officer and made a decision that will be music to the ears of the 172 national sports bodies in the country.

“ We have decided to approve a one off grant to all national sports associations registered with the Sports Commissioners Office,” said DS Reezal when contacted today.

“ This one off payment will be given to all national level sports associations subject to them not having any pening issues with KBS or the SCO.

“ So if you missed the deadline, there is nothing to worry as you will receive your allocation in due course.

“ I have also directed that the deadline for the other aspects like event organisation and digitalisation be further extended.”

DS Reezal said that he hopes national sports association , state sports bodies and clubs eligible for the RM10 million allocation will seize the opportunity and make their applications fast.

“ I will seek the assistance of OCM and MPM as well as NSC to get those who have yet to apply to do so,” added DS Reezal.

“ We are trying to help the sports industry but they too must show some intuitive and go through the process.

“ I have given leeway for the administration grant to be provided access board but for the others they need to do a proper application and justification for the amount applied.”
