Will Athletes be allowed to resume training? Decision today .

The restart program for Malaysian sports will be determined this morning.

Youth and Sports Minister Dato Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican will present a proposal to the Special Committed of Minister on Covid 19 and the National Security Council. .

It was initially planned to be tabled after the Hari Raya but Dato Seri Reezal pushed his officers into coming out with a detailed plan and after being satisfied, the Minister was optimistic about his colleagues as well as the Ministry of Health non.

“ This proposal is for the Road to Tokyo Athletes and if approved we start training on June 1,” said Dato Seri Reezal last night .

“ We have included very strict standard operating procedure for all those involved.

“ Break the regulations and out you go, no two ways about it.

“ And to ensure compliance o personally will take charge of the monitoring panel set up.”

A total of 265 Athletes, officials, support staff and sparring partners will be housed at three locations namely Bukit Jalil, Bukit Kiara and Langkawi.

They will have to stay in and undergo a swab test to check if they are positive or negative of the virus.

And it could well be a lockdown of sorts for those working at NSC.

“ We will designate zones that are out of bounds for those not involved in this exercise,” revealed Dato Seri Reezal.

“ There will restrictions placed on outsiders and even the media need to adhere to the regulations as we cannot afford any slip ups.”

And the Minister believed that a successful two weeks could well open the doors for other sports and athletes to return to training soon.

“ Any similar proposal will only be considered after a decision in made on the Conditional Movement Control Order that expires on June 9,” added the Kepala Batas MP.
