Kok Chi plugs the leaks but exposes holes in OCM

Dato’ Nazifuddin to usher in an era of freshness

to rejuvenate the Olympic Spirit in  Malaysia

I have been asked by many, the reasons for supporting Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin bin Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib, to be the Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) in the coming OCM elections on 5th May 2018.

OCM needs a humble, compassionate and friendly sports leader, who truly appreciates the representatives of the National Sports Associations (NSAs) of OCM, not as their boss, but as their partner in contributing to their mission to strengthen their NSAs and the development of their sports and athletes.

A new candidate that does not hold any high ranking posts in international  Sports Federations and as such, could devote full time, focus and attention on his duties and responsibilities of OCM, Dato’ Nazifuddin being a team player, has no personal ambition to be a high flyer aiming for IOC membership, for example, and can sincerely serve the new Executive Board and Council of OCM.

Dato’ Nazifuddin has no excess baggage to answer over the past mistakes and wrong decisions made by his predecessors, including myself. He also has no record of bullying, intimidation, threatening and humiliating representatives of NSAs and the staff of OCM.

Dato’ Nazifuddin comes from a very strong sporting background. His late Grandfather, Allahyaham Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and his late Grand Uncle, Allahyaham Tan Sri Hamzah Abu Samah were both former Presidents of OCM, and his Grand Aunt, Toh Puan Zaiton Hussein, all had contributed immensely to the development of OCM and to Malaysian sports.  As such, OCM can rest assured that Dato’ Nazifuddin will not destroy his family legacy in sport. My last hope is to pass on the baton and entrusting the future with the younger generation of the founders of OCM.
